The issue of the occupied Karabakh water sources will be discussed in the international debate.
 
President of the International Eurasia Press Fund Umud Mirzayev and employees of IEPF have participated in the events organized within the framework of the UN Office in Geneva. Umud Mirzayev met with Dr. Nidal Salim, Director General of the Global Water, Safety and Health Institute (GWSHI), which office is headquartered in Geneva. During this meeting the sides discussed issues related to the expansion of mutual cooperation, cooperative support of peace and sustainable development initiatives in the region and the globalization of humanitarian disasters created by the war.
 
The IEPF President noted that due to the Karabakh conflict numbers of water basins have been occuppied and rivers have been polluted, and using these basins and rivers in not correct way is against to the all rights. N. Salim noted that he was acquainted with the consequences of the conflicts in the Caucasus and praised the cooperative activity to prevent negative impacts on water basins as a result of occupation of Azerbaijani territories.
 
N. Salim claimed that the United Nations Water Coordination, the UN Environment Program and other agencies co-ordinated the activities of civil society forums around the world at the International Water Forum, which is scheduled to be held in Brazil in March 2018. He said that the forum was a preparation to the World Water Congress and noted that IEPF is ready to clarify humanitarian activities within the framework of the event.  Dr. Nadal talked about the importance of mutual cooperation related to the water problems Azerbaijan is facing as a result of the war on international agenda.
 
IEPF President Umud Mirzayev stated that he believes in the successful outcome of these sessions and parallel events with the Global Water, Safety and Health Institute to keep the issues of peace and the environment at a constant pace. At the end, both of the organizations signed a Memorandum of Understanding in the UN Geneva office to investigate and deliver worldwide water issues, water security issues  and access to water resources for everyone. According to the memorandum, IEPF and GWSHI will explore issues such as water and threats in the Caucasus, Central Asia, the Middle East, Africa and post-soviet space together.
 
It also should be noted, that the Global Water, Safety and Health Institute is represented at the board of the UNESCO Institute for Water Affairs, the World Water Council, the Asian Water Council, the International Water Reserve Assessment and the Swiss Water Partnership. The organization is a consultative member of the UN Social and Economic Council.
