Most teenagers and young people in Azerbaijan have difficulty making the right decisions for their lives. Adolescents from special circumstances and marginalized groups are more vulnerable. For example, people living in IDP camps, people with disabilities living in remote areas and villages. To develop new skills of young people, to get a good education, to increase employment opportunities, to expand their knowledge, to improve relations with local authorities.
The current UNICEF Azerbaijan Country Partnership Program (2016-2020) considers the development of adolescents and youth a priority. The Azerbaijan Youth Support Program project is a special project for young people implemented in the regions, developed on the basis of the Azerbaijan 2020 Vision Vision Development Concept. In order to expedite the strategy, Mr. President signed the New Azerbaijan Youth Program in 2017.
The executive partner of the project is the International Eurasia Press Fund (IEPF). The project will be implemented in close cooperation with local municipalities and executive authorities of the regions where it is implemented. Out-of-organization trainers and consultants will be appointed to conduct trainings for young people on various topics.
Over the past 3 years, the IEPF has taken joint steps with local executive authorities to study and meet the needs of adolescents and young people living in 3 frontline regions (Tartar, Goranboy, Barda) in the draft Azerbaijan Youth Support Program
