It has been represented in the IPI Board of Directors since 2011 and is one of the influential IPI members.” The IEPF has actively participated in the establishment of the IPI National Committees in Georgia, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan and is working towards widening the scope of activities of this giant media network through coordinating the IPI Baku Regional Initiative Center. Umud Mirzayev also mentioned that the IPI National Committees will be soon established in the Middle East and the East Asia and emphasized that the organization has been cooperating with 156 media outlets, including CNN, BBC, Al Jazeera, and other major media networks. “It is pleasant that the IEPF is representing Azerbaijan in the board of directors of such a paramount organization”, said Mr. Mirzayev and added that IPIs activities have contributed to the freedom of media and expression in the world.

It should be mentioned that the IPI was established after the WWII in 1950. Established by 34 editors from 15 countries with headquarters in Vienna, the IPI has been working towards protection and promotion of freedom, improving journalistic practices, exchange of experience, conducting trainings, and preparing comprehensive reports on the state of media in the world.
