Ali Dashgin, the poet from Tabriz, delivering the opening speech noted that the “Dalgha” group had been set up 25 years ago: “the aim of setting up such group was to develop ashig music and raise awareness among the young generation about this ancient music genre. The “Dalgha” group of Iranian Tabriz ashigs acts in Iran, Europe and in several countries around the world. The activities of the “Dalgha” group of Iranian Tabriz ashigs is of high importance in terms of preserving folk art as well as national and moral values. After the introduction of the members to the audience, Umud Rahimoglu, chairman of the International Eurasia Press Fund recalled the deadliest terror attack in the capital city of Turkey where many people lost their lives: “This tragic news is not only shock to Turkey, but also to Azerbaijan. The bullets shot at the Fraternal Turkish people have also hit us. Our hearts are wounded in this regard”. After a moment’s silence commemorating the killed people in Ankara, chairman of the IEPF looked back at the creation date of the “Dalgha” group: “I was in Tabriz when they started to set up this group in late 1980 and gave my contribution to the naming process of the group”. At the end of the speech, the speaker expressed his gratitude for organization and support to MP Ganira Pashayeva, head of the Public Association of Eurasian Institute of International Studies and Ali Hasanov, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the State Committee on Deals of Refugees and IDPs. Fuad Huseynov, deputy chairman of the State Committee on Deals of Refugees and IDPs stressed that the guests would enjoy the music art with the performance of the southern musicians which would bring to the audience unforgettable emotions. Following the concert programme, MP Ganira Pashayeva spoke about the terror attack in Turkey: “We share the current grief of Turkey and such bloody terror is not acceptable in any part of the world including Turkey”. The MP noted that she had known the group members, especially head of the group Chingiz Mehdipur for so long. Speaking about the anciency of the ashig music genre, the “Dalgha”group, during its next visit to Azerbaijan, will organize concerts in Khankendi, Shusha and in the other regions under occupation: “We all are looking forward to that day and believe that the poet Ali Dashqin, who wrote a book about the occupied regions, will also write about subsequent scenery of those regions after liberation. Ganira Pashayeva thanked the chairman of the State Committee on Deals of Refugees and IDPs and the chairman of the IEPF Umud Rahimoglu. At the end of the event, Umud Rahimoglu and Ganira Pashayeva granted valuable gifts to the members of the “Dalgha” group.
