According to him, the main principles as well as the strategic programmes of the UN is the ideal for the work of the International Eurasia Press Fund maintaining General Consultative Status with the NGO Branch of the UN ECOSOC.
Mr. Lutful Kabir, the Honorary Advisor of IEPF, who worked for the UN Systems for about 12 years, also talked on the occasion. He highlighted the global roles that the various UN Systems play and how it impact the lives of human-being and the fragile environment of the globe. He also briefed the audience the evolution of collaboration between the UN and Azerbaijan since 1992. In the end, Mr. Kabir emphasized that, it is the privilege of the IEPF to be in General Consultative Status with the NGO Branch of the UN ECOSOC and it is responsibility of each of the IEPF’s employees to preserve this status.
Speaking on the occasion, Rey Karimoghlu, journalist, ghazi from Karabakh, noted the IEPF reminds of the UN, due to the fact that, since its inception in 1992 its logo “Peace at home, Peace in the country, Peace in the world" has reflected the mission of the UN. And the IEPF, as a member of the UN, will continue to operate in partnership with the UN agencies and will be one of the main partners of the UN in terms of preserving peace and stability, ensuring sustainable development and implementing social and economical programs.
The outcomes transpired from the discussion session during the event: in line with IEPF’s Principal Moto, i.e. “Peace at home, Peace in the Country and Peace in the world”, the IEPF will display the 4 UN Resolutions, surrounding the Nagorno Karabakh Conflict, in visible locations of its offices in Baku and in the regions aiming to call on the UN Member States to “follow the resolutions, and bring peace to the region”. Most significantly, to commemorate the 70th Anniversary of the UN, the IEPF will organize a reception at IEPF office for the members of the UN Agencies in coming days. The date will be fixed subject to the availability of the UN Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan.
