Giving the welcome speech to the guests the Chairman of the International Eurasia Press Fund, Umud Mirzayev mentioned about the efforts by local and Hungarian staff on production of the film revealing the Armenian vandalism in Karabakh. “My origins are from Karabakh and I cannot express how difficult it is for me to see the destructed, devastated images of village, and the house that I grown up in. Sharing the memories of hundreds of thousands of residents in the occupied territories, to see and hear their suffering is very difficult. Thus, this film has a great significance in terms of publicizing the truth about the Karabakh in Hungary and in all over Europe.”
Upon short information about the film, Mr U.Mirzayev expressed his gratitude to Mr. Ali Hasanov, Mr.Andras Biro, Mr. Azay Guliyev and the respectable guests of the presentation ceremony.
Taking the scene, the Head of the Magyar Turan Foundation Andras Biro stated that, the “Ceasefire” is a message to the world: “Azerbaijanis and Hungarians have always been friends. The one watches the film will understand the tragedies that the Azerbaijani people have been through. Even though many are aware that the war happened in 1990’s, very few know the truth about the tragedies. Today by watching “Ceasefire” film, we learned about the tragedy with real movie scenes. The documentary film reflects the Azerbaijani realities. Khojali is not only a tragedy for South Caucasus but also for the whole humankind.”
The Chair of the Council on the State Support to the Non-Governmental Organizations under the Auspices of the President of Azerbaijan Mr. Azay Guliyev in his speech mentioned that we send a peace message to the world through “Ceasefire” documentary film. “No words needed. I would like to express my highest gratitude to the Head of the Magyar Turan Foundation Mr. Adras Biro for his sincere approach to the filmmaking procedure. We see a true call by a humane person to the world community.”
He later added: “I would like to thank the chairman of the International Eurasia Press Fund, Mr. Umud Mirzayev for all the efforts that he made. Despite all difficulties, he succeeded to professionally produce the film with his team. The same support that we gave to the filmmaking as the Council on the State Support to the Non-Governmental Organizations under the Auspices of the President of Azerbaijan was received by the Assistant of the President Azerbaijan for Public and Political Affairs Mr. Ali Hasanov. Thank you all.”
“Surely, this too is a part of the work by our government to publicize and raise the awareness the truth about the tragedies to the world,” he finalized his thoughts.
Assistant of the President Azerbaijan for Public and Political Affairs Mr Ali Hasanov stated that the “Ceasefire” film illustrates the chronology of the events to the world. “Once more, we remembered the chronology of those devastating events. 24 years ago, world has witnessed one of the most brutal events happening to humankind with the Khojali tragedy. Unfortunately, has only witnessed and kept silence.”
He continued, “In 1992-1993 these events were approached within the political interest and were not even truly appreciated inside the country. Only upon the return of Haydar Aliyev to power in 1993, it gained the real value. At the same time, the truth about the tragedy was delivered to other states. Years have passed and Azerbaijan still keeps sharing and publicizing the realities with all its power and effort.”
Mr. A. Hasanov then added: “By shooting such documentaries and organizing these projects, our intention is not to instill hatred to the world against the Armenian people. We need deliver the Karabakh realities to the world community to avoid the recurrence of the tragedy. We are not hostile to the Armenian people. We reveal the true face of the criminal group that started the ethnic separatist regime and held the ethnic cleansing in South Caucasus. Today, they are in the government offices in Armenia and lead the separatist regime in Nagorno-Karabakh. We reveal the face of the criminal group ruling the Armenian population.”
To the end of the presentation ceremony, the Head of the Magyar Turan Foundation Mr. Adras Biro and Chairman of International Eurasia Press Fund Mr. Umud Mirzayev has been awarded with honors on behalf of the Council on the State Support to the Non-Governmental Organizations under the Auspices of the President of Azerbaijan.

The documentary film is a joint product of Hungarian and Azerbaijani journalist in the framework of project “Victim of Occupation”. The film reflects historical phases of Armenian aggression to Azerbaijan in Southern Caucasus, the historical roots of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, cultural heritage and traditions of Azerbaijan as one of the leading countries in South Caucasus. Historical injustice that Azerbaijan lived through, massacres, harsh consequences of war, and the core objectives to Khojali tragedy constitutes the main line in the film.

In the screenplay also illustrated the opinions and comments by Hungarian, German, French and American experts on the settlement of the conflict and statements by the witnesses.
