“Caeasefire" is a unique documentary film, produced by Magyar - Turan Foundation and International Eurasia Press Fund.  The film was financed by the Council on the State Support to the Non-Governmental Organizations under the Auspices of the President of Azerbaijan.

The documentary film is the first joint product of Hungarian and Azerbaijani journalists that portray Karabakh realities in the framework of project “Victim of Occupation”. Before the film presentation, the memory of the Khojaly victims and Nagorno-Karabakh war martyrs was honored with a moment of silence.

Addressing the event, the Chairman of International Eurasia Press Fund, Umud Mirzayev stated that documentary film is the first joint product of Hungarian and Azerbaijani journalists that raise awareness of the international community about the Karabakh realities.

The film reflects historical phases of Armenian aggression against Azerbaijan, the historical roots of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, cultural heritage and traditions of Azerbaijan as one of the leading countries in the South Caucasus. Historical injustice that Azerbaijan lived through, massacres, harsh consequences of war, and the core objectives to Khojaly tragedy constitutes the main line in the film. 

In the screenplay also illustrated the opinions and comments by Hungarian, German, French and American experts on the settlement of the conflict and statements by the witnesses.

The documentary film also reflects the facts on modern history of Azerbaijan, as well as miserable lives of people who were displaced from their native lands as a result of the occupation of our territories. You can see also for the first time uniquely footages about the life of Azerbaijanis in Nagorno-Karabakh before the occupation and wedding which took place in Shusha.

The film was made by Erik Bognár and the director of the film Gabor Szabo. The film is based on the scenario of the Chairman of Hungarian Turan Foundation Andras Biron.  

Shooting of the film, particularly interviewing witnesses, preparing video materials about historical and cultural lands, shelling on the frontline as well as collecting of the archival materials was realized with support of the International Eurasia Press Fund and its staff.

The main purpose of the film is to promote the fair position of Azerbaijan in the world community and to deliver the brutal crimes committed against Azerbaijanis by the Armenian aggressors to the European countries as Hungary's example.

Noted that “Ceasefire” documentary film produced by Hungarian filmmakers about the Karabakh realities were presented at the Nizami Cinema Center in 2016. Prior to that, “Ceasefire” film was presented on 8 December 2015 in Budapest, Hungary on "Uranium" film and festival hall and made resonance in the country as well.

At the premiere of the documentary film in Budapest  Chief Advisor to the Speaker of the Hungarian Parliament Andras Keteman, parliamentarians, government officials,  five mayors of city and a well-known public and political figures, scholars and journalists participated.

To the end of the presentation ceremony, vice-rector of ADA University Fariz İsmayılzadə expressed his gratitude to the staff of IEPF for their crucial efforts in the filmmaking procedure. He stated that this film plays an important role in delivering the Karabakh realities to the European audience.
