The UN Resident Coordinator and the UNDP Resident Representative in Azerbaijan Ghulam Isaczai met with the President of the International Eurasia Press Fund (IEPF) Umud Mirzayev. Within the meeting held in IEPF office, they discussed the development of collaboration and supporting initiatives and joint projects between the UN office in Azerbaijan and IEPF. Umud Mirzayev gave information about the organization and projects implemented. The IEPF President reminded the guest their joint trip to Tartar region to see people’s daily life in frontline regions of Azerbaijan and expressed his wish to make regular visits to those areas. Mr. Mirzayev underlined the necessity of the fostering peace in the region. He stressed that mostly civilians suffer from war. UN Resident Coordinator Ghulam Isaczai appreciated the projects fulfilled by the IEPF and mentioned that UN office in Azerbaijan is interested in the establishment and development of cooperative ties with the IEPF, one of the leading representatives of civil society in Azerbaijan.
Then the guest is informed about working process of the IEPF and Eurasia Diary. Talking with the staff of the editorial office, Mr. Isaczai had a look at the IEPF Training Center and the “Eurasia Production” studio that deals with shooting of the special video clips and documentary films. Ghulam Isaczai also watched at the video clip named “War children” which represented in the UN Headquarter in Geneva and dedicated to the children living in the Hasangaya and Shikharkh villages of Tartar region.
