Member of the World Bank Independent Evaluation Group Project Performance Assessment Report Mission Hjalte Sederlof paid a visit to the office of the International Eurasia Press Fund (IEPF) and met with its president Umud Mirzayev. 
 
Hjalte Sederlof informed Umud Mirzayev that his trip to Azerbaijan from Washington DC aimed at evaluation of the World Bank Group’ effectiveness in the work with internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Azerbaijan. “World Bank has three projects in Azerbaijan and IEG is trying to assess them and understand the role of IDPs in the community, in the country, both, from the government and also from other agencies and organizations”. 
 
IEPF has long and outstanding experience working with refugees and IDPs since the time of establishment in 1992. Umud Mirzayev talked about different projects are being implemented by the organization in cooperation with various international and locally-based organizations, UN entities and embassies aimed at work with refugees and IDPs in the frontline regions of Azerbaijan. 
 
IEG Consultant was very impressed by the work the IEPF doing and asked the organization to provide him with a number of reports or analysis, which may be helpful to determine the main problems the refugees and IDPs face in Azerbaijan. Moreover, both sides agreed that there is still work to be done to make refugees and IDPs live in proper conditions, especially in the frontline regions of Azerbaijan. 
 
Consultant Humay Guliyeva also participated in the meeting, which was held in the IEPF office. 
 
IEG is independent of the Management of the World Bank Group and reports directly to the Executive Board. The Independent Evaluation Group (IEG) evaluates the development effectiveness of the World Bank Group and provides evaluative evidence to help the World Bank Group deliver better services and results to its clients.
