The Head of the European Union Delegation to Azerbaijan Kestutis Jankauskas visited the International Eurasia Press Fund (IEPF) and met with the IEPF President Umud Mirzayev.
 
They discussed the future prospects for establishment of fruitful cooperation between the IEPF and the Delegation of the EU to Azerbaijan. 
 
The sides highlighted importance of NGOs’ participation in implementation of the socio-economic, humanitarian and infrastructural projects, especially in the frontline regions of Azerbaijan. 
 
Umud Mirzayev gave detailed information about the key work directions of the IEPF as well as about a number of successfully implemented projects aimed at work with youth in the regions of Azerbaijan affected by the war.
 
In addition, Umud Mirzayev informed the guest about the activity and priorities of the IEPF Vocational Training Center located in Tartar region of Azerbaijan and about the recently established under aspics of the IEPF, Eurasia Education Center.  
 
The IEPF has good experience in collaboration with Delegation of the EU to Azerbaijan in media sphere, as well as in organization of several joint events. The sides stated that the year 2018 opens new opportunities for extension of the EU’s activity in Azerbaijan. 
 
Kestutis Jankauskas expressed his gratitude to Umud Mirzayev for the invitation and appraised the Fund’s activity.
 
The head of the EU Delegation to Azerbaijan became acquainted with activity of the “Eurasia Media Network” which has international analytical information gateway Eurasia Diary, Eurasia Press and Eurasia Production. He also hailed the work of the non-banking credit organization “Eurasia Credit” founded in 2007.
 
Kestutis Jankauskas kindly accepted Umud Mirzayev’s invitation to visit the frontline regions of Azerbaijan to get acquainted with the IEPF’s activity in the regions in near future. 
 
At the end of the visit, Kestutis Jankauskas attended the ceremony of certificate delivery for the interns who successfully completed their internship in the IEPF. 
 
Political Officer in the Political, Economic and Information Section of the EU Delegation in Azerbaijan Ausra Raisyte-Daukantiene also participated at the meeting.  
 
It should be noted that the International Eurasia Press Fund is the sole organization in Azerbaijan with General Consultative Status with the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). Its main activities are: Media & Civil Society Development; Community Development; Refugees/IDPs Issues; and Peace-making & Conflict Resolution.
 
In cooperation with international and locally-based organizations, the IEPF carries out different humanitarian projects aimed at supporting refugees and IDPs in the war affected regions of Azerbaijan, as well as at the community development.
