On December 13, an expanded meeting of the Board of Trustees of the International Eurasia Press Fund was held on the results of the year. The first speaker at the meeting held at the IEPF headquarters was the organization's President Umud Mirzayev, who spoke about the work done in 2024, the results achieved, and the annual report under preparation. He noted that the activities set and planned at the beginning of the year were successfully implemented and all this will be reflected in the final report to be approved in January of the following year.
At the meeting that followed, Mr. Genci Muchay, former Ambassador of Albania to Azerbaijan and Turkey, statesman, diplomat, was elected as IEPF's Advisor on International Affairs. Chingiz Abdullayev, Chairman of the IEPF Board of Trustees, presented the ambassador with an official IEPF card and spoke about the importance of this appointment at the national and international levels. He especially noted that this decision, adopted at the end of the current year, will be very useful. Then, the newly elected Ambassador Genci Muchay, who stated that he had been following the activities of the IEPF since his time working in Azerbaijan, expressed his satisfaction and emphasized that he was eager to show his support and contribution: “The work done by the President of the IEPF, Umud Mirzayev, and his team over the past 30 years is evident. I highly appreciate such cooperation against the backdrop of the friendly and brotherly relations between us,” the Ambassador noted.
It should be noted that Ambassador Genci Muchay was the Ambassador of Albania to Azerbaijan in 2013-2016. In parallel, he also served as the non-resident Ambassador of Albania to Georgia, the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and the Kyrgyz Republic. The former statesman, who has a rich biography, most recently served as the Assistant to the President of Albania for Foreign Affairs.
