Project implementation date: The project was completed in May 2003 under an agreement with the American Research and Operating Center (RIA) dated September 12, 2002 and a tripartite memorandum signed between TAM-ANAMA-IEPF.

Scope of the project-- The program was implemented in 11 cities of Azerbaijan liberated from Armenian occupation and affected by the war, as well as in 2 cities and 5 districts of the country, which were contaminated with military ammunition during the Soviet era.
The aim of the project is to identify dangerous areas of Azerbaijan contaminated with mines and unexploded ordnance and to determine the socio-economic impact of mines.
Results: 1164 communities were visited in 2 cities and 16 districts to identify the effects of mines. The study identified 13 high, 124 medium and 507 low impact communities. A total of 1,115 mine victims have been identified, including 53 victims of the past two years.
The work done after the completion of the project was monitored and the results of the Mine Action Study Program in Azerbaijan were praised.
