Grameen Creative Lab and International Yunus Centre highly appreciated this video message as the first congratulation message from post-Soviet countries. Mr.Umud Mirzayev, being among those members of civil society organizations from Albania, Mexico, Malaysia, Germany, France, China, Japan, Italy, Spain, Latvia, Canada, Argentina and Colombia who participated at the birtday wave campaign, mentioned one more special feature of Prof.Yunus’s anniversary for Azerbaijan. This Sunday was a historic day for Azerbaijan as the 28 June 2015 celebrated as the closing day of the First-ever European Games in Baku. Founder of the Grameen Creative Lab Mr. Hans Reitz expressed his best impressions about Baku 2015 European games. Umud Mirzayev noted that the Games held in Baku is the victory of not only Azerbaijani people but of all European nations.
Then Mr. Hans Reitz highlighted the sustainable development in Azerbaijan as a great practice. Saying, “Azerbaijan is the most important country on the Silk Road. We would like your country to combine the East with the West in the best possible form and share the values” Mr.Hans Reitz noted that it would be his pleasure to see a delegation from Azerbaijan in “2015- Global Social Business Summit” to be held this November in Berlin. Speaking about the importance of Baku as a central city, Mr. Reitz highly appreciated the prospects of holding upcoming events in Baku.
I believe that Azerbaijan will play main role in the course of development of social business in Central Asia and post-Soviet countries. Speaking about the achievements of Azerbaijan, Mr. Mirzayev expressed his support to social development of the government and civil society organizations as well as the academic centers. Emphasizing Azerbaijan’s great experience in this regard, Mr. Mirzayev said that he considers the ideas of Prof. Yunus as an important conception for eradicating poverty and ensuring sustainable development.
