In Fuzuli and Aghdam regions, a series of "Explosive Ordnance Risk Education " (EORE) events were held on the occasion of the International Day for Mine Awareness and Assistance in Mine Action. The meetings were conducted by the International Eurasia Press Fund (IEPF) with the support of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA). It took place within the framework of the project "Explosive Ordnance Risk Education in IDP Communities in Fuzuli, Aghjabedi, Beylagan, Aghdam, Tartar and Barda regions".

The meetings organized by the EORE team of IEPF took place in Banovshelar of Aghdam district and Gayidish-1 settlement of Fuzuli districts. At the event, it was emphasized that Azerbaijan is in the first ranks among the countries suffering from this problem due to the level of contamination with mines and explosive remnants of war, and for this reason, every citizen of Azerbaijan was called to be more careful and responsible. Also, on this international day, such events held in the country and the steps taken in this direction are of great importance.

Important information about landmines, their types, explosive and unexploded ordnance safety rules, rules of conduct for people during the Great Return, what to do when they encounter landmines and unexploded ordnance, and answers to participants' questions were provided by EORE team members.

The event moderated by Ruslan Ibrahimbeyli, head of the EORE team of IEPF, was attended by trainers, local executive authorities, municipalities and representatives of the regional offices of the State Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan for Affairs of Refugees and IDPs. 

ANAMA, UNHCR and IEPF urge people to behave responsibly, avoid unauthorized visits, do not enter dangerous and suspicious areas, and do not touch unknown objects they come across.
