Representatives of the Hungarian-Azerbaijani Business Forum are visiting Azerbaijan with the joint support of the Foreign Ministries of the two countries.

One of the leading representatives of the forum, the director general of the Hungarian company Trinity Enviro, Bence Fülöp, visited the International Eurasia Press Fund.

At a meeting with IEPF President Umud Mirzayev, Hungarian representative stated the purpose of his visit and discussed several draft proposals for the restoration of polluted water reservoirs in the liberated territories.

Umud Mirzayev told the guest about the pilot projects currently being implemented by the Fund. He also noted that along with water reservoirs in Karabakh, the lands and ecological situation that are in a dire situation. In particular, he spoke about the importance of demining areas contaminated with landmines, emphasizing the importance of cooperation with relevant Hungarian companies in this direction.

Bence Fülöp initially offered to cooperate in cleaning small water reservoirs in Karabakh and creating irrigation infrastructure there. In turn, Umud Mirzayev spoke about other work to be done in Karabakh and brought important issues to the guest's attention.

"The main problem in Karabakh is the landmine issue," he said. In addition, the chemical roofs of the destroyed houses were burned and mixed with soil, the wastes of metallurgical plants were dumped into water reservoirs and rivers for years, and the water sources and estuaries of the rivers were cut off and dried. Thus, they committed ecological terror in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan. These contaminated lands are now interfering with the surrounding water reservoirs and destroying our water resources,"said the president of the IEPF.

During the discussion with Umud Mirzayev, Bence Fülöp proposed to lay the foundation for activities in this direction, starting with a small area, and to develop a plan of large joint project for this in the future.

The parties also touched upon the prospects of future cooperation.

It should be noted that the Hungarian company Trinity Enviro is implementing projects in Asia and other countries under the leadership of Bence Fülöp. He is also a freelance consultant for Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) on ecosystem management, project development and evaluation. IWRM is a process that promotes the development and management of water, land and related resources to maximize economic and social well-being in a fair manner without compromising the sustainability of vital ecosystems.
