Today Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Vasyl Bodnar met with the President of the International Eurasia Press Fund (IEPF) Umud Mirzayev and the Head of the "Atlas" Center for Political Studies Elkhan Shahinoglu within the framework of his official visit to Azerbaijan.
As a part of his trip, he was recieved by the Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Mahmud Mammadguliyev and Khalaf Khalafov.
Then he headed to the IEPF office to meet with the representatives of civil society in Azerbaijan.
During the meeting, Umud Mirzayev informed the guest about the activities of the IEPF, international cooperation and also talked about the successfully implemented projects in the regions that were dismantled during the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
According to him, both Ukraine and Azerbaijan suffer from the protracted conflicts, the countries iare forced to face the negative consequences of the war - refugees and IDPs, as well as environmental disasters.
Thus, Ukraine is interested in taking advantages of Azerbaijan's experience in solution of the humanitarian problems that provoked by the war for more than 25 years.
For that reason, last year the Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine, Andriy Reva, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin, and the Deputy Minister for Temporary Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons of Ukraine George Tuka visited Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijan became the first post-Soviet republic that faced separatism led to a war.
Umud Mirzayev provided broad information on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and presented photos of the destructed infrastructure and cultural heritage in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan by Armenian Armed Forces.
The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine highlighted the IEPF's activities, especially in regions close to the war zone. He also hailed the leadership of organizations among other NGOs in the region.
