Foreword

2015 was a significant year for the International Eurasia Press Fund in terms of building a long-term strategy with our donors and partners, addressing the challenges facing the media and civil society, implementing the priorities of the concept of sustainable development, and developing relations with UN agencies and international organizations. In 2015, at a time of religious and national conflicts, the Eurasian Media Network was established to promote peace-building, protect global trust, promote multiculturalism and religious tolerance, and convey Azerbaijan's achievements to the world. cultural events were held, the "Victim of the Occupation" project, which spoke about the disasters of war together with our Hungarian partners, was successfully completed. This year we have realized a pleasant event that we have been dreaming of for a long time. The head office of our organization, which plays a leading role in the field of civil society in Azerbaijan, meeting modern, international standards, was opened with the participation of our friends, partners and high-level guests. In our modern office, we have received valuable local and foreign guests throughout the year, and laid the foundation for new and successful projects. Following the tradition of gaining the highest membership in the NGO section of the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) in 2014 - General Consultant (General Status), our organization actively participated in UN meetings this year. The 14th session of the Experts of the Public Administration Committee of the UN Economic and Social Council was marked by a presentation on the model principles, challenges and experience of the IEPF in building relations between state and civil society organizations. In our new office, we have hosted international and local events covering a variety of topics in line with UN challenges. In short, this year, based on our goals and mission, we have worked day and night to earn the highest status of the United Nations, bringing our activities in line with international standards. We have implemented projects in line with modern requirements and contributed to the establishment of civil society. We have achieved successful results showing the level of development of civil society in Azerbaijan. I am proud to say that in 2015 we also remained committed to our international responsibilities. In particular, we have gathered in Baku the world's leading religious experts on the protection of multicultural values ​​and religious tolerance, and we have sent a message to the world about the mission of religions to reconcile and call for peace in the modern confrontations of mankind. We worked tirelessly. In accordance with our mission "Peace at home, peace in the country, peace in hell", we gave life to new ideas and made new friends. The kind words addressed to us by our friends, foreign partners and representatives of the state we represent in return for the large-scale work we have done in Azerbaijan and in the Eurasian space in general, the projects we have implemented and our volunteer activities have been our greatest gift. I am confident that 2016 will be a memorable year in our relations with our partners and in conquering new heights.

ABOUT THE INTERNATIONAL EURASIA PRESS FUND

 

The International Eurasia Press Fund (IEPF) is an independent non-governmental organization registered in 1992. The International Eurasia Press Fund, a member of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) as the Main Consultant, is also a member of the Council of Europe for Refugees and Asylum Seekers (ECRE), the US State Department's Public-Private Partnership Program (PM / WRA), and the International Peace Bureau (IPB). He is a member of the International Press Institute (IPI).

The IEPF has been included in the list of organizations whose activities in the Republic of Azerbaijan have been coordinated by the Republican Commission for International Humanitarian Aid since 2007.

The Organization operates in 5 main areas: Development of media and civil society; Community development; Problems of refugees and IDPs; Peacebuilding and conflict resolution, Education.

The opening of the IEPF headquarters in 2015 was particularly significant. The ceremony was attended by government officials, parliamentarians, ambassadors of different countries to Azerbaijan, diplomats, representatives of international organizations, media leaders and members of the public. Ali Hasanov, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan for Socio-Political Affairs, and Mr. Antonius Broek, UN Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan, cut the ribbon and inspected the office. Speaking at the ceremony, IEPF Chairman Umud Mirzayev said that the International Eurasia Press Fund (IEPF) has established close ties with government agencies, various international organizations, embassies and international NGOs during the 23 years of its activity. "Today, the IEPF is closely involved in the development of civil society and the media, implements socio-economic programs in war-torn regions, and contributes to peacebuilding and peacekeeping operations," he said. specially noted. Without the attention and care for civil society in Azerbaijan, of course, the International Eurasia Press Fund would not have been able to achieve these successes.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ali Hasanov, Aide to the President of Azerbaijan on socio-political issues, said that the IEPF is a classic example of NGOs in Azerbaijan and has been operating effectively in Azerbaijan for 20 years. He noted that the knowledge and achievements of the professional staff of the IEPF contributed to the development of Azerbaijan and stressed that it is an example for others.

Attending the ceremony, Mr. Antonius Broek, UN Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan, said that the opening of the IEPF office, the highest status member of the UN Social and Economic Council, was important in terms of attention to civil society and promotion of UN values. He expressed confidence that the partnership for the promotion of sustainable development, social integration and peace in Azerbaijan will be enriched with new ideas under the umbrella of the IEPF, and will open new horizons for cooperation between Azerbaijani civil society and UN agencies. In conclusion, Azay Guliyev, Chairman of the Council of State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, wished success to the IEPF in its future activities, noting the opening of its new building.

    At the event, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev was awarded the Supreme Prize of the International Eurasia Press Fund (IEPF), a key advisory member of the UN Economic and Social Council, for its role in the development of civil society in Azerbaijan. The award was presented by the chairman of the IEPF Umud Mirzayev to Ali Hasanov, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan for Socio-Political Affairs, at the opening ceremony of the IEPF headquarters. DEVELOPMENT OF MEDIA AND CIVIL SOCIETY

In 2015, the 140th anniversary of the establishment of the Azerbaijani Press was celebrated. Currently, the country's media is experiencing a period of qualitative change in the true sense of the word. The media, which has a special role in the overall development of the state and civil society, is a key tool for the formation of public opinion, as well as the formation of various tendencies in society. On this significant day of the Azerbaijani Media, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received members of the Board of the Press Council. Chairman of the International Eurasia Press Fund Umud Mirzayev, who attended the reception, briefed the President on the work done and future plans for the development of the Azerbaijani media. The IEPF chairman has international status in the example of the IEPF, emphasizing the effective coordination of the media in the development of the media in our country, the Press Council of Azerbaijan and the State Support Fund for Mass Media under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in addressing issues considered by media organizations. He also spoke about the successful results of supporting the activities of the media and civil society organizations. The head of state highlighted the IEPF chairman's proposals to bring the media's capabilities to international standards and welcomed the necessary measures. He stressed the importance of the development of relations between media organizations and international organizations, the prospects of media access to international audiences for our country. Addressing the media, the head of state said the state would always support the development of the Azerbaijani press at the level of international standards, transparency and efficiency.

 

Activities in cooperation with the International Press Institute

In 2015, the IEPF expanded its activities in the field of international media in order to cover the issues in more detail. Given that a large aspect of its activities is related to the media, the IEPF has sought to support the process of building a strong media and civil society in Azerbaijan. The organization continued its multilateral cooperation in the development of freedom of speech and the media, and hosted a number of media events for Azerbaijani civil society organizations. The IEPF is closely involved in the development process in order to achieve greater success in civil society and the media in general. In addition, the chairman of the organization, as a member of the Board of the International Press Institute (IPI), as the head of the IPI office in Azerbaijan, contributes to the initiatives of this influential organization in the development of free speech and media in the world, participates in IPI World Congresses and General Assembly. Raises issues related to the development of independent media in Azerbaijan and the region.

 

Azerbaijan was also represented at the scheduled meeting of the General Assembly of the International Press Institute in Myanmar this year by Umud Mirzayev, head of the International Eurasia Press Fund (IEPF) and a member of the board of the IPI. The meeting of the board of the IPI discussed the activities of the organization last year and the strategic plan for next year. Acting Executive Director of the IPI, Barbara Trionfi, was elected Executive Director of the IPI, and the composition and activities of the committee's committees and commissions were approved. At present, the IEPF coordinates the activities of the Baku Regional Initiative Center of the International Press Institute, which is represented by the national committees of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.

 

Chairman of the International Eurasia Press Fund Umud Mirzayev attended a meeting of the board of the International Press Institute in Vienna on October 17, 2015. During the event, Umud Mirzayev met with John Yearwood, Chairman of the IPI, Barbara Trionfi, Executive Director of the IPI, as well as colleagues on the board. He met with Bulbul Ahsan, head of Bangladesh's Boishakhi TV, Ken McGarry, editor of the BBC, Sami Al Haj, head of Al Jazeera's Human Rights Department, and Galina Sidorova, former head of the IPI and head of the Investigative Journalists Foundation in Russia. The organization's charter has been revised and new rules for membership have been approved.

2015 marks the 65th anniversary of the International Press Institute (IPI). Speaking at the event at the International Eurasian Press Foundation, IEPF Chairman, IPI Board Member, IPI Regional Initiative Center for National Committees Umud Mirzayev spoke about the IPI's leading position among the world's leading media outlets. Speaking about the activities of the IPI in the protection of free speech, the development of journalism, protection of freedom of expression, the IEPF chairman informed the participants about the activities of the National Committee of Azerbaijan. “The IEPF has been a member of the IPI since 2004. Since 2011, it has been represented on the board of this prestigious organization and is one of the organizations that has a say in the activities of the IPI.

In 2015, the IEPF cooperated with international media organizations, played an active role in organizing the visits of their representatives to Azerbaijan, preparing extensive reports, conveying to the world the truth about the disasters of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the occupation factor and refugees. This year alone, about 15 journalists from Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, Great Britain, Latvia, Lithuania, Ethiopia, Russia, Israel, Indonesia and Qatar have visited IEPF. The IEPF closely supported the preparation of an extensive research report by Dr. Fatima Ahmad Alsmadi, Chief Researcher, Al Jazeera Research Center, on "Relations between Azerbaijan and the Gulf countries, as well as Azerbaijan's regional relations, Azerbaijan's future role in the Caucasus and the Caspian region." During her visit to Baku, Fatima Ahmad Alsmadi met with Mr. Ali Hasanov, Aide to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on socio-political issues, Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade, Chairman of the Press Council of Azerbaijan, Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Office (CMO), Mubariz Gurbanli, Chairman of the State Committee for Religious Organizations. He met with representatives of denominations, civil society organizations and other public and private organizations, and received extensive interviews from them. It was noted at the meetings that Azerbaijan is an active supporter of the ideas of multiculturalism on a global scale. He was informed about the prestigious events held in our country and abroad together with science centers. The guest was informed that thanks to these efforts, Azerbaijan is known in the world as a center of multiculturalism. Religious and National Tolerance - The role of the media in the development of international relations

  In general, the issues of religious tolerance and media coverage of multicultural values ​​were among the priorities of the IEPF in 2015. For this purpose, in September 2015, a forum entitled "Religious and National Tolerance - the role of the media in the development of international relations" was organized by the Fund in Baku. The event, which was attended by officials of the country, chairmen of religious communities, media representatives, religious experts from foreign countries, caused a serious resonance. Speaking at the forum to acquaint invited guests, journalists and experts from around the world with the traditions of tolerance in Azerbaijan, Chairman of the International Eurasia Press Fund Umud Mirzayev stressed the importance of such events as peace, tolerance, free, equal and coexistence, resolution of national conflicts. He said it was very important in terms of delivery to the world. He said that today the natural rights of ordinary people, such as national and religious identity, freedom and peaceful coexistence, have become the main target of media outlets controlled by various power centers around the world. Insulting religious beliefs, promoting national and ethnic intolerance, and violating the values ​​that people have respected for millennia have become unbalanced, negative, and one-sided information that threatens humanity. The horrific killings in the Middle East under the guise of Islam, and the widespread media coverage of anti-Islamic campaigns in Europe and America, are in fact leading to a gap between Western and Eastern civilizations. Umud Mirzayev, chairman of the IEPF office, briefed the guests on the history and activities of the organization, as well as the tragedies faced by Azerbaijan. After visiting the Alley of Martyrs and the graves of the victims of the Khojaly tragedy, the foreign delegation met at the Baku International Center for Multiculturalism, the Caucasian Muslims Office, the Russian Orthodox Church and the Mountain Jews Community Office. The meetings within the forum ended at the ancient Albanian temple, one of the oldest Christian churches in the Caucasus, located in the village of Kish, Sheki. The guests said they considered the work done in Azerbaijan to preserve and develop inter-religious dialogue, religious monuments and beliefs to be the best example of coexistence of people of different nationalities and religions. 

In 2015, the IEPF hosted a large number of foreign guests in the field of media. In December this year, a group of foreign journalists from seven European countries (Italy, Germany, Hungary, Great Britain, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands and Israel) visited the International Eurasia Press Fund. The main purpose of the visit was to exchange views on frozen conflicts, the impact of these conflicts on the region, the important role of Karabakh in the socio-political and social life of Azerbaijan, prospects for mutual cooperation in resolving conflicts, as well as solutions. During the discussions, IEPF Chairman Umud Mirzayev briefed the guests on Azerbaijan's rightful position in resolving conflicts, the situation of refugees and internally displaced persons, the world's major powers turning a blind eye to the occupation factor, and the IEPF's long-term activities in war-torn areas. He called on the world community, international organizations and the media not to remain indifferent to this injustice faced by Azerbaijan. He noted that the long-term continuation of the occupation factor has created an atmosphere of distrust and mistrust in the Azerbaijani civil society, among ordinary people in the West.

 

The Eurasian Media Network was founded.

In 2015, the IEPF, in addition to hosting international media representatives, established the Eurasia Media Network, which includes the analytical information portal Eurasia-Press, Eurasia-Production and Eurasia-Agenda. On December 4, 2015, the presentation ceremony of the newly established body and its component "Eurasia-Agenda" international analytical-information portal was held. The Eurasia Agenda is a joint initiative of the International Eurasia Press Fund and the Eurasian Media Network to form opinions, conduct analytical analysis and create a platform for the peaceful settlement of global and regional conflicts in general. The main mission of the portal is to disseminate accurate information about the conflicts in the Eurasian space and the world as a whole, to convey to the world the true picture of the conflict.

According to Malik Ayyub Sumbal, editor-in-chief of the portal, one of the main goals of the project is to promote peace through journalism. He noted that “the Eurasian Agenda has taken its views and concepts from the IEPF and is a step forward to provide expert analysis of the concept of peace. The portal will feature articles by experts on resolving regional conflicts. The analytical information portal, broadcast in 5 languages ​​- English, Russian, Arabic, Turkish and Azerbaijani, will have more than 20 representatives in Asia, Africa, Europe, the Middle East, North and South America. Speaking at the event, public figures, government officials, foreign ambassadors to Azerbaijan and representatives of international organizations in Azerbaijan stressed the importance of the Eurasian Diary news portal for Azerbaijan's integration into the global information space. During the presentation, congratulatory messages from the Director General of the International Press Institute Barbara Triffoni and the Secretary General of the International Peace Bureau Colin Archer to the international analytical and information portal "Eurasia-Diary" were delivered to the audience. It should be noted that the portal contains the opinions of the world's leading experts on issues of regional and international interest.

 

International Eurasia Press Fund at the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum

 The IEPF also took an active part in the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum this year. IEPF Chairman Umud Mirzayev also attended the forum's international conference on "The importance of social dialogue in the regulation of labor relations and job guarantees in Europe" in Vilnius. The conference, which took place in Vilnius on June 18-19, focused on topics such as "Effective active labor market policy - the EU's challenge to countries", "the search for security and compatibility in European labor markets" and others. Meetings between representatives of civil society of the Eastern Partnership, mainly from Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova and Georgia, discussed social programs in Azerbaijan, social activities, the state and activities of civil society, the importance of the First European Games in Azerbaijan and answered questions.

During the visit, IEPF Chairman Umud Mirzayev discussed the cooperation of Azerbaijani civil society organizations with Eastern European organizations at the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Lithuania with the participation of IEPF Lithuanian representative, photojournalist Richard Lapaytis, who has worked for years to convey the truth about Azerbaijan and Nagorno-Karabakh.

Leading journalists and writers have a very important role to play in bringing peace and conflict to the world more accurately and objectively. During his visit to Riga, together with IEPF Chairman Richard Lapaytis, he visited the grave of Modris Auzins, a well-known Latvian public figure, writer and journalist, who made an invaluable contribution to the establishment of the IEPF. The visit was also attended by writer Larisa Rikhtir, executive director of the Baltic Forum Alexander Vasilyev, wife of Modris Auzinshin and her son Krist. During the visit, IEPF Chairman Umud Mirzayev laid 100 carnations from Baku on the grave of Modris Auzinsh as a sign of respect for the work done by the deceased in the conflict zones and reports from the conflict zones.

It should be noted that Modris Auzinsch has made numerous visits to most of the conflict zones in the post-Soviet space since the late 1980s, and has presented various journalistic articles, programs and theses on conflict resolution.

 

WORK WITH SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT AND COMMUNITIES

 

     In 2015, the International Eurasia Press Fund continued to play an active role in the field of international responsibility in the field of civil society. Umud Mirzayev, Chairman of the Organization, took part in the 14th session of the Experts of the Committee on Public Administration of the United Nations Economic and Social Council. held useful meetings with a number of officials and international organizations. In addition to being the Permanent Mission of Azerbaijan to the United Nations, they work for the United Nations Democracy Foundation, including the prestigious Columbia University, the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and Europe. Representatives of the Union also attended the hearings on the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine. During the event, the IEPF chairman met with the head of the NGO section of the UN Economic and Social Council Alberto Padova and proposed to establish a joint network of organizations with the highest status of the NGO section of the UN Economic and Social Council. Mr. Padova was presented with a carpet woven by women mine victims who were trained at the IEPF's Tartar Vocational Training Center. Chairman of the International Eurasia Press Fund Umud Mirzayev and Deputy Chairman Ramil Azizov, together with the organization's international adviser Lutful Kabir, participated in the "6th Social Business Day" international conference organized by the International Yunus Center on May 25-31, 2015 at the invitation of Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Muhammad Yunus. At the conference, the IEPF Chairperson joined the calls for social business development to support global poverty reduction and the UN Sustainable Development Strategy. The IEPF chairman met with the founder of the Inam Foundation, founder of microfinance and social microcredit, Nobel Peace Prize laureate Mohammad Yunus and head of the Yunus Center Lamia Morshid. Peace Prize Laureate Mohammad Yunus praised the IEPF's work in the field of civil society and expressed interest in working together to develop social business to reduce poverty. Noting the importance of the voice of peace preachers in resolving the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Umud Mirzayev stressed the importance of the work of the International Yunus Center to promote peace and sustainable development in the world. Nobel Peace Prize laureate Mohammad Yunus said it was expedient to hold a Global Peace and Social Summit in Baku with the participation of the International Eurasia Press Fund, Yunus Center and leading academic centers of Azerbaijan and post-Soviet countries and send joint peace messages to the world. Meeting with the head of the International ASA (Umid) Shafigul Hagu Choduri in 11 countries, Umud Mirzayev stressed that non-governmental organizations in Bangladesh have come a long way, and in this regard, the importance of building bilateral relations and exchanging experiences. Mr. Choduri said that his organization employs more than 28,000 people and operates in 11 countries with a budget of about one billion US dollars. He noted that serious results will be achieved through cooperation with the IEPF in the development of civil society, poverty eradication, health and education. He said that Eurasia Credit LLC cooperates with international donors to provide micro-credits to refugees and IDPs, low-income families, the disabled, especially mine victims and war-torn people living in war-torn areas. In particular, within the framework of projects implemented by the IEPF in the regions, Eurasia Credit is closely involved in creating individual economic opportunities for the population of the region through small loans, and ultimately in ensuring the financial stability of these creditors. In 2015, the IEPF made significant progress in community development, its main area of ​​activity. Business cooperation between the International Eurasia Press Fund and FINCA Azerbaijan has been successfully continuing for several years. ISSUES OF REFUGEES AND IDPs

 

2015 was also a significant year for the International Eurasia Press Fund, one of the main activities of the Foundation for Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons. The IEPF has been selected as one of two organizations to lead the study of migration issues in the former Soviet Union at a special meeting of the European Council for Refugees and Asylum Seekers (ECRE) in Brussels, Belgium. The IEPF, together with Memorial International, a Russian non-governmental organization, has been given special authority to direct research on the Caucasus, Central Asia, Ukraine and Russia, and to publish a publication analyzing the regional situation. This regional publication will collect and analyze information affecting countries outside the European Union on defense rights, capacity building, mixed migration flows, and ways to resolve long-term settlements. It should be noted that the IEPF has been a member of ECRE for several years. As a member of the ECRE network, the IEPF regularly provides ECRE with updates on the situation of refugees and asylum seekers, mainly in Azerbaijan. PEACE BUILDING AND RESOLUTION OF CONFLICT

 

One of the main priorities of the IEPF is to help achieve human peace through global initiatives. To this end, the organization's cooperation with the International Peace Bureau has entered a new phase this year. It should be noted that in 2013, IEPF Chairman Umud Mirzayev, who attended the three-year meeting of the BSB in Stockholm, Sweden, was elected a member of the Supreme Council of the organization. The IEPF office celebrated the 70th anniversary of the United Nations

 

    An event dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the United Nations was held at the IEPF Baku office. This year, the International Eurasia Press Fund (IEPF) and the Egyptian Cultural Center organized a presentation of the book "Karabakh is the way to peace in the Caucasus" by Egyptian journalist and researcher Ahmed Abdoh Tarabek. Opening the ceremony, which took place at the IEPF Baku office, Chairman of the Organization Umud Rahimoglu spoke about the importance of publishing the book in Arabic. IEPF Mine Action Program - Community Mine Action

 

This year, the IEPF's Community Mine Action Team (IPAC) continued mine clearance, liquidation and single ammunition operations in 2015 in the liberated regions bordering the occupied territories of Azerbaijan, especially in Tartar, Goranboy, Goygol and Barda. During demining operations in 2015, a total of 4,306,802 square meters (430 hectares) were cleared, and a total of 95 mines and unexploded ordnance were found and neutralized.

Azerbaijan's interregional relations with the subjects of the Russian Federation are developing effectively and dynamically. There are a large number of Azerbaijanis living in Moscow and other Russian cities, including many respected people - doctors, scientists, educators and other professionals who widely promote our country. The Dostlug-Azerbaijan Public Center in the Russian Autonomous Republic of Udmurtia is also working to convey the truth about Azerbaijan to the Russian public. The purpose of the center is to protect the national and cultural values ​​of Azerbaijan, social, artistic, cultural initiatives, active integration of Azerbaijanis in Udmurtia into the cultural life of Russian society, development of education, strengthening ties between the two countries, promoting friendship, trust and understanding between peoples. The organization is based on the national interests of both countries and intends to continue to work actively in the priority areas of both countries. This year, the International Eurasia Press Fund also pays special attention to cooperation with leading youth organizations operating in Azerbaijan.      IEPF Chairman Umud Mirzayev also attended the presentation of the 2015 Youth Declaration on Safe and Inclusive Sports. It should be noted that this event is the culmination of the two-day National Youth Consultation within the framework of the UNICEF-BEGOC partnership on the social heritage of the first European Games in Baku 2015. This year, the IEPF continues to work with UNICEF, a key partner in youth work. Together with UNICEF partners, it held an event entitled "Annual Review of Activities and Next Steps". Opening the event, Chairman of the International Eurasia Press Fund Umud Mirzayev said that youth policy in Azerbaijan is an important part of state policy. He noted that the youth of Azerbaijan is distinguished by active participation in all spheres of public life and plays an important role in the implementation of political, economic, humanitarian and social measures. As a result of the wide opportunities created by the state for the activities of young people, this layer has become a vanguard force in society. Aida Ailarova, UNICEF Representative in Azerbaijan, said that the international organization she represents should increase the role of Azerbaijani youth in the development of society and solve their problems, increase their participation and responsibility in the future development of the country, and exchange views with young people in the capital and regions. It is interested in cooperating with Azerbaijani civil society representatives and youth organizations in order to create conditions and facilitate open communication with youth and government agencies and government officials. In December 2015, with the financial support of the Baku International Student Club (BICC) and the Youth Foundation under the President, the Second All-Republican Forum of Foreign Student Youth in Azerbaijan was held.

Aysaba Umutlu, the chairman of BBTK, spoke about the successful and memorable projects of BBTK during the first forum. The main purpose of the forum is to bring together foreign youth studying in our country, to give them the opportunity to express themselves, to study the problems and interests of foreign students during the project, to organize events to strengthen communication between Azerbaijani and foreign students. It was stated at the forum that today about 5,000 citizens of 58 countries study in Azerbaijan. If the first forum was attended by about 200 students from 18 countries, the second forum was attended by more than 300 students from 25 countries.

 At the forum under the motto "Offer from us, support from you", foreign students studying in Baku made proposals on the establishment of the International Youth Center, the organization of exhibitions for creative and talented students, as well as special tours to get to know Azerbaijan better. The songs and dances performed by foreign students, who highly value Azerbaijani culture, added a little color to the forum.

As part of this year's Internet program, both international and local youth made effective use of their time to gain experience and information on the organization's activities. During the year, students of BSU, Khazar, ADA, universities participated in internship programs. More than 50 students from Slavic University in various specialties have gained practical knowledge in the programs implemented by the IEPF. Students from Frankfurt, Germany, Utrech, the Netherlands, and the University of Girne in the United States visited our country to conduct research on the situation of refugees and internally displaced persons, especially in areas relevant to the IEPF's mission. IEPF Chairman Umud Mirzayev awarded the participants who successfully completed the internship program with certificates and wished them success in their future endeavors. In turn, the participants thanked the management for the opportunities created by the IEPF and stressed that they will apply the knowledge and skills acquired in their future activities.

 

   IEPF's international status and achievements attract the attention of foreign students, and this year, as every year, students come to our country to conduct research and gain experience. A group of research students from the Faculty of Applied Sciences of the Dutch University of Applied Sciences Utrechh - Joeri Vugts, Marjdein Bach and March Grol visited the Baku office of the International Eurasia Press Fund. The students, who met with the chairman of the organization Umud Mirzayev, were informed about the situation of refugees and IDPs, which are of research interest to them. The meeting focused on IDPs displaced from their lands during the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict, the difficulties created by the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and the indelible traces it leaves in people's lives. The guests were given extensive information about 20% of the occupied Azerbaijani lands. The IEPF chairman said that one of the main reasons for the establishment of peace and order in the region is the failure to find a solution to this problem. The IEPF chairman also informed the guests about the projects carried out in this direction and the work done by the organization. Then the guests got acquainted with the IEPF Baku office.

 

At the end of 2015, the International Eurasia Press Fund announced the successful completion of an internship program in partnership with Khazar University. Khazar University students Vusala Huseynova and Elvin Abdurahmanli have successfully completed a month-long program. IEPF Chairman Umud Mirzayev awarded the participants with certificates and wished them success in their future activities. CEPA - Center for Professional Development and Professional Development

The Center for Professional Development and Professional Development (CEPA) was established in December 2014 under the IEPF and has been operating since 2015. The purpose of establishing this center is to train qualified personnel, increase their experience and develop and implement various improvement programs.
