On October 29, a meeting was held at Baku State University  between the President of the International Eurasia Press Fund (IEPF), public figure, and Honored Cultural Worker Umud Mirzayev, and the faculty and students of the Faculty of Journalism.

According to EDnews, the event began with the screening of a documentary film dedicated to the activities of the IEPF, founded and headed by Umud Mirzayev. The film highlighted the Fund’s long-standing humanitarian and media projects, as well as its achievements on the international stage.

In his address, Umud Mirzayev spoke about his professional journey from the early years of his career to the present day, outlining the stages of development, major accomplishments, and key social initiatives of the IEPF.

He emphasized the vital role of civil society institutions in the development of the community and underlined the importance of ongoing efforts in this field.

During the meeting, Professor Jhangir Mammadli, Head of the Department of National Press History, and Dean of the Faculty of Journalism Vugar Zifaroglu also delivered speeches. They shared their warm memories of Umud Mirzayev and highly appreciated his significant contributions to the media and public spheres.

The event continued with an engaging Q&A session and exchange of ideas between students and the guest.
