Yesterday more than 15 Iranian media representatives from the various organizations, as well as a Russian journalist at “Yugo Rossiya” analytical portal Yevgeniy Mikhailov met with the Chairman of Azerbaijan’s Press Council, Member of Parliament (MP) Aflatun Amashov and the President of the International Eurasia Press Fund (IEPF) Umud Mirzayev in the IEPF office, as they visited Azerbaijan.
Umud Mirzayev welcomed the guests and highlighted role of the media to improve bilateral relations in political, economic as well as cultural spheres among Azerbaijan, Iran and Russia.
In the event Azerbaijani MP, member of Azerbaijan-Iran Working Group on inter-parliamentary relations Aflatun Amashov reminded the guests his visit to Iran and drew attention to the importance of organizing such events for media organizations from the countries. He also mentioned that it is necessary to form journalists’ union of the Caspian countries.
Moreover, he said that Astara-Rasht railway will contribute to not only economic ties, but also cultural relations between two countries.
The head of the Iranian delegation, Editor-in-Chief of Sari-Ershad magazine Hossein Shabani appraised this meeting in terms of developing of mutual relations in media sector and expressed his gratitude to the Chairman of Azerbaijan’s Press Council Aflatun Amashov and the IEPF President Umud Mirzayev.
During the meeting a short video made by the IEPF on the trip of Iranian bicycle traveller to Azerbaijan was demonstrated to the Iranian journalists.
At the end Aflatun Amashov and Umud Mirzayev answered the various questions of Iranian media representatives.
Meanwhile, the main goal of the Iranian journalists’ visit to Azerbaijan is to inform their audience in Iran about tourism potential, historical places, culture, kitchen and national music of Azerbaijan.
