A meeting has been held between the head of the UNEC Research Foundation Ellada Aliyeva, President of the International Eurasia Press Fund (IEPF) Umud Mirzayev, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Uzbekistan Huseyn Guliyev, rector of the Uzbek University of Journalism and Mass Communications, chairman of the International Press Club Sherzodkhan Kudratkhoja.
 
According to EDNews.net, the sides have discussed issues of further expansion of cooperation, implementation of joint projects in the field of media, exchange of experience, participation of journalists from both countries in mutually organised trainings. The parties agreed to sign a Memorandum of Cooperation on these issues.
 
A memorandum on cooperation between Azerbaijani and Uzbek organizations was signed at the International Press Club in Tashkent on October 2.
 
The signing ceremony was attended by Ellada Aliyeva, Head of the UNEC Research Foundation, and distinguished guests from Uzbekistan.
 
IEPF President Umud Mirzayev and Rector of the University of Journalism and Mass Communications of Uzbekistan, Chairman of the International Press Club Sherzodkhan Kudratkhoja signed two memorandums. Documents on cooperation between the University of Uzbekistan and press clubs of both countries have been approved.
 
A memorandum on cooperation was also signed between Samir Abbasov, director of the Heydar Aliyev Azerbaijan Cultural Centre in Uzbekistan, and Sherzodkhan Kudratkhoja.
 
The parties agreed to promote the two countries, cooperate in the field of media, organize joint conferences, mediations, organize Azerbaijani language courses for Uzbek journalists, send books and publications on Azerbaijan to the International Press Club of Uzbekistan and the University of Journalism and Mass Communications.
 
During the signing ceremony, Samir Abbasov noted that the Uzbek media provided important information support to Azerbaijan during the 44-day war as a result of a joint project of the Azerbaijan Cultural Centre and the Uzbek media. stressed that. He thanked the Uzbek side and expressed satisfaction with the further expansion of new cooperation. Sherzodkhan Kudratkhoja noted the importance of cooperation with Azerbaijan and praised the cooperation with the Azerbaijan Cultural Centre in this direction, and praised the establishment of new cooperation.
 
IEPF President Umud Mirzayev stressed that as a result of the signed documents, cooperation between journalists and media organisations of the two countries will reach a new level in the future, and closer ties will be established.
